Nushu

This project explores how the revival of Nvshu, a secret script historically used by Chinese women, can be adapted into contemporary graphic design to empower female voices under digital censorship. Drawing from feminist theory, design anthropology, and historical research, the project uses Nvshu as both a visual and symbolic tool to challenge patriarchal norms and promote solidarity. Through visual experimentation, typography, storytelling, and participatory elements, it reimagines Nvshu not only as a cultural artifact, but as an active method of resistance and communication.
